ARTICLE 6
The Contracting Parties shall adopt, within
the limits

regulations, all appropriate measures

as far as possible, unnecessary delay

simplify, as far as possible, the
carrying

ARTICLE 7
(1) Each

cognise the nationality

ARTICLE 8

ARTICLE 9
(1) Each

the other Contracting
Party. These seamen's identity

are :
(a) for nationals

the Republic

Cyprus
the "Passport

the Republic

Cyprus"
and the "Cyprus Seamen's Book".
(b)
for nationals

the Republic

the
Philippines, the "Seamen's Record Book",
or the "Philippine Passport".

ARTICLE 10
(1)
For the safe manning of the merchant

sels registered

their territories, with qualified
personnel, shipowners of each Contracting Party
may engage qualified nationals of the other COl1-
tracting
~arty.
The terms

employment of
such nationals
οη
vessels registereG
ίη
the other
Contracting Party's territory shall be
approνed
by the competent Authorities
ίη
consultation
where possible, with the national seafarers' unions
or associations
οί
the seamen's country and shall
be stated
οη
their contracts
οί
employment.

this regard each Contracting Party shal1 exel't
its best efforts

ensure that these terms

employment are adhered to.

disputes arising

employment between a shipowner

(3) For the purpose

enhancing the standards

the Contracting Parties shall encourage, support
and facilitate cooperation

time training between the competent training insti–
tutions, organizations and agencies
establίshed
and operating
ίη
their
terrίtοήes.
(4) The Contracting Parties shal1 take appro–
priate measures

apprenticeship training
to graduates

maritime or nautical schools

the Contracting Parties.
ARTICLE 11
(1) Where

this
Agreement, the national laws and regulations

each Contracting Party
shall apply with regard

entry, stay and depar–

crews

vessels of the Contracting
Parties.
(2) The Contracting Parties reserve the right

deny entry

their respective territories to
any holder

a seaman's identity documents, as
defined

Article 9 paragraph
(1),
whom they
consider undesirable.
ARTICLE 12
(1)
Profits from the operation
οί
a shipping
enterprise, registered under the laws and regu–
lations
οί
either
οί
the Contracting Parties,
ίη
international traffic, including profits derived from
its participation
ίη
a pool, a joint business or
ίη
an international operation agency, shall be
taxable
οηlΥ ίη
the Contracting Party where the
registered office
οί
the enterprise is situated.
(2)
Εarηίήgs οί
seamen or seafarers who are
citizens
οί
either Contracting Party shall be taxed
ίη
accordance with the national laws
οί
the Con–
tracting Parties.
