IMPORT DUTY.
D R A W B A C K OF IMPORT DUTY.
Persons who pay import duty on guns broughc wich chem to Cyprus for Sporting purposes
are entitled to have three-fourths of the amouut refunded at che Custom House, Larnaca, in the
event of their taking the guns oue of the Island within 5 years on production of the documents
referred to in Sec. 2 (a) and (*) of Order in Couucil Xo. 19, Gazette 77 of I i)th October, 18SI.
When any Import Duty shall have beeu paid in respect of any wiue, spirics, malt liquors,
tobacco, cigars, or articles of food supplied for the use of any mess on board any of His
Majesty's ships of war. a drawback of the amount of the ducy so paid may be allowed, or if
such goods are shipped from the Customs store before payment of duty, the amount of such
duty mav be remitted on the production of a certificate from the prop'er officer of Customs
that such goods have been actually shipped on board one of His Majesty's ships, a receipt
from the Paymaster of such ship for the gooils and a wriccen undertaking from ehe Paymaster
or other proper officer of such ship that if such goods or any part thereof shall be at anv time
re-landed, the duty shall be paid thereon.
In lieu of drawback of import duty paid iu respect of any wine, spiri»rmalt liquors
tobacco, cigars or articles of food imported and subsequently actually consumed or used by
His Majesty's Land Forces, fixed money allowances are paid out of "the Island Treasury to
the Officers and Soldiers of His Majesty's Land Forces quartered within the Island.
The amount of duty paid on any article which may be subsequently supplied to the High
Commissioner shall berefundedout of the Treasury ou the order of the High Commissioner, (a)
