the Parties to use economic and industrial resources

both countries for their

a wide, stable and long-term cooperation;
Recogηising
the existence

opportunities for economic and industrial cooperation between
the two
couηtries;
and
Takίng
into consideration the
proνisions οί
the Final Act

the O)nference

Security and
Cooperation in Europe,

Haνe
agreed as follows:
ARTICLE
1
The Parties shall take such measures aimed
a·t ensuring
faνourable
conditions for the further
deνelopment
and
strengthenίng οί
economic and
industrial cooperation between the two countries.
Το
this end the Parties shal1 accord to each other
most-faνoured-nation
treatment.
The Parties shall encourage the
deνelopment
οί
cooperation between corresponding Cyprus
enterprises, organisations and firms and
Soνiet
organisations inthe fields
οί
economy and
ίη
dustry so that such coopera·tion may reach as
high a
leνel
as poss·ible.
ARTICLE 2
The Par,ties shall, by mutual agreement, deter–
mine specific fields
οί deνelopment οη
economic
and industrial cooperation between the two
couηtήes
as wel1 asthe forms through which
such cooperation could more
effectiνely
be
carried
ου'Ι
The said fields
οί
cooperation shall be deter–
mined
taking
inιο
account mutual possibilities
and requirement'S, particularly in equipment,
technology, raw materials, industrial and agri·
cultural products.
ARTICLE
3
The coopera6on,

for

lowing forms :
- modernisation and expansion

industrial
enterprises
οί
mutual economic interest;
- cooperation
ίη
the field

industrial and
agricultural production;
- exchange

cooperation

interest to both
Parties to be additionally agreed

ARTICLE 4
The Parties shall encourage and support initia–
tiνes
aimed at the
deνelopment οί
industrial co–
operation between corresponding Cyprus enter–
prises, organisations and firms and
Soνiet
organisaιtions.
