desirous

developing technical and scientific cooperation between the two countries,
have agreed

the following provisions :
Article
Ι
The contracting Parties undertake to render
assistance

each other

the fields
οί
technical
and scientific cooperation, and the exchange of
technical knowledge for promoting the economic
development
οί
the two countries.
Article

The contracting Parties undertake

promote
and facilitate the execution oftechnical and
scientific cooperation programmes
in
accοrdanα
with the objectives

social and economic deve–
lopment
οί
their
respeCΙive
countries.

The technical and scientific cooperation pro–
vided for by
Aιticles Ι
and 11

this Agreement
shall cover the following fields :

mu-tua] grant

scholarships for studies and
sρeciaIίsed
training,in accordance with the
modalities to be
deterιnined
by mutual
agreement;
(b) exchange

ex,perLs, educationaJists techni–
'cians and civil
serνice
personnel;
(c) joint promotion

studies and schemes
likely to contribnte to the social and eco–
nomic deve]opment of the
Ιwό cοuntήes ~
(d) joint research works
οη
technical and
'scien'tific problems relating to 'agricu1tural,
industrial and other fields;
(e) all oth,er
forιns οί
technical and scientific
,cooperation including practical training
for craftsmen
(in
modern and traditional
crafts),
teσhni~ians
and executive
ρerson
nel as mutuaHy agreed between the con–
tracting parties;
(ί)
exchange

scientists, researoh workers,
specialists and scholars;
(g) exchange

·scientific and technical infor–
mation and documentation;
(h)
organisation

bilateral scientific and
technical seminars and cou-rses covering
problems

interest tothe two countries ;
(i)
joint identification

scientific and techni–
cal problems, formulation and implementa–
tion

joint research programmes which
may lead to the appHcation

the results

such research to industry, agriculture
and ,other fields, and exchange

riences and know-how resulting therefrom.

1. The objectives

2. The implementation

Foreign Aff'airs from
th,e Cypriot Side and the ,State PJanning Commis–
sion from the Syrian S:ide.

Protocols or contract's, which shall be the basis
for developing cooperation between organisations,
enterp,rises andinstitutions concerned with science
and techno}ogy
