Legislation.
The Secretary of State for the Colonies has
intimated that the power of disallowance will not be
exercised in respect of the under-mentioned Law :—
No. 39 of 1959.—A Law to provide for the
continuance in force of certain powers after the
cessation of a state of Public Emergency in the
Colony.

With reference to Notification No. 31, in the
Cyprus Gazette (Extraordinary) of the 10th Ja–
nuary, i960, His Excellency the Governor, Sir
Hugh Mackintosh Foot, G.C.M.G., K.C.V.O.,
O.B.E., Governor and Commander-in-Chief of
the Colony of Cyprus, was absent from the Colony
on duty from the ioth to the 29th January, i960.
