altered to " The Commonwealth War Graves Com–
mission ".
2. The Commission shall have and may exercise
by its new name all the authorities, powers and
privileges conferred and subject to the conditions
imposed by the Original Charter, the aforesaid
Supplemental Charters and this Our Supplemental
Charter.
3. The alteration in the name of the Commission
shall not in any wise prejudice or affect any rights
or obligations of the Commission or anything done
or foreborne to be done or which remains to be
done or foreborne to be done under or by virtue of
its previous name and any reference to the Com–
mission by its previous name occurring in any deed,
instrument, agreement, contract, notice or other
document shall subject to any requirement of local
law be deemed to include a reference to the Com–
mission by its new name.
4. The alteration in the name of the Commission
shall not render defective any legal proceedings by
or against the Commission and any legal proceedings
that might have been continued or commenced by
or against the Commission in its previous name may
be continued or commenced by or against the Com–
mission in its new name.
5. As from the date of this Our Supplemental
Charter, the Original Charter shall henceforth be
read and construed and shall have effect as if the
provisions set out hereunder were substituted in
place of the provisions appearing in Clause 4
Part VII of the Original Charter, that is to say : —
" 4. (i) Any instrument which, if made by a
private person would be required to be under
seal shall be executed under the Seal of the Com–
mission and signed by the Proper Officer of the
Commission. Subject as aforesaid, any appoint–
ment made by the Commission and any instru–
ment, agreement, contract or other document to
be executed by the Commission or on its behalf.
shall be deemed to be duly executed either if
sealed with the Seal of the Commission and
signed by the Proper Officer, or if signed by an
Officer of the Commission duly authorised in that
behalf under the terms of a resolution of the
Commission.
(ii) The Proper Officer of the Commission
shall be any Officer so designated under the terms
of a resolution of the Commission and authorised
to sign such documents as he is required to sign
as aforesaid ".
A N D W E do will and ordain that this Our Supple–
mental Charter shall be construed as one with the
Original Charter and the aforesaid Supplemental
Charters.

The Government Regular Employees' Provident
Fund Rules.
W H E R E A S
the Government of Cyprus after consul–
tation with trade unions and staff associations of
certain of its employees has agreed that a contributory
provident fund be established providing benefits for
or in respect of such employees being contributors
and that rul'es be prepared authorising the establish–
ment of the fund and making provision for all matters
connected therewith :

THEREFORE
the Governor in consultation
with the said trade unions and staff associations
makes the following Rules :—
Citation.
I, These Rules may be cited as the Government
Regular Employees Provident Fund Rules and shall
come into force and have effect as from the date on
which the same are published in the Gazette.
Interpretation.
2. In these Rules unless the context otherwise
requires—
" the Board " means the Government Regular
Employees' Provident Fund Board constituted
under the provisions of rule 4 ;
" contribution" means a payment into the
Fund as specified in paragraph (1) of rule 7
and includes any amount credited under the
provisions of paragraph (2) of Rule 10 ;
" contributor" means an employee of the
Government as specified in rule 5 ;
" deposit " means a sum paid into the Fund by
the Government pursuant to these Rules and
includes any amount credited under the provisions
of paragraph (2) of Rule 10 ;
" the Fund " means the Government Regular
Employees' Provident Fund established under
Rule 3 ;
" regular employee " means an employee of the
Government who is paid wages and who is
recognised as a regular employee under any
regulations or administrative instructions issued
by the Government for the time being ;
" service " means service in a regular capacity
and includes any continuous casual employment
immediately preceding the attainment of regular
status :
Provided that where records in respect of the
casual service of a regular employee do not
exist or are incomplete the Head of Department
shall require the employee to produce an affidavit
by two persons testifying that the employee was
continuously employed during the unrecorded
period of his service ;
" wages " means a payment for services rendered
made weekly or at some other regular interval and
computed according to the number of hours
worked.
Establishment of the Fund.
3. There shall be established a Fund to be known
as the Government Regular Employees' Provident
Fund.
The Board of Management.
4.—(1) There shall be constituted a Board to be
known as the Government Regular Employees

Provident Fund Board which shall be responsible
for the management of the Fund subject to these
Rules.
(2) The Board shall consist of the Treasurer who
shall be the chairman and eight other members who
shall be appointed by the Governor :
Provided that six of the said eight other members
shall be nominated by trade unions and staff
associations representative of regular employees
and appointed by the Governor :
Provided further that no resolution shall be passed
unless voted by a majority of both the Official and
the Staff Sides.
(3) Monies shall be paid into the Fund as in these
Rules provided and there shall be made out of the
same such payments as are authorised by these Rules
and the expenses of the management and administ–
ration of the Fund ; and such monies as are from time
to time available for investment shall be invested in
such investments as are for the time being authorised
| by law for the investment of trust funds or in such
