VACANCY.
The following addition should be made to para–
graph 3 of Notification No. 446 published in the
Cyprus Gazette of the 5th May, 1960 : —
" A qualification in Electrical Engineering is
desirable but not essential". (M.P 6074/50.)

505. Meteorological Office.
VACANCY.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates;
for a vacancy in the temporary post of Meteorolo–
gical Assistant, 1st Grade.
2. The salary of the post is £642x24—690 X3f>
—810 per annum plus cost-of-living allowance at the
rate approved by Government from time to time, the
present rate being 2 8 £ % of salary.
3. Duties : The duties will include :—
(a) the making of routine weather observa–
tions ;
(b) the critical checking of outstation records ;
(c) the preparation of simple statistics ;
(d) the preparation of charts and diagrams ;
(c) the adjustment of and simple repairs to
instruments ;
(f) general office routine, including responsibi–
lity for stores ;
(g) any other suitable duties which may be
assigned to him by the Head of his Depart–
ment or other duly authorized officer.
4. Qualifications required : The candidate should
have passed the Cyprus Certificate of Education in
the following subjects :—
English Higher (pass level)
Mathematics A and B (pass level)
and at least two other subjects—Geography or
Science subjects being preferable.
