* PORT, HEALTH AND LIGHT DUES.
1. On ali Teasels arriving at a pore in Cyprus from a foreign port and calling at Cyprus
ports without between their calls ac anjr such port* having called at a foreign port.
(a) At thefirstport:
For every ton of registered tonnage np to 800 tons

up to a m__imum of Twelve Pounds.
(-) At each of the second or third pores, when the above mentioned dues hare been paid
in full, half the above rates with a m a x i m u m amount of six pounds at each port.
N o dues are payable in respect of a vessel if she calls at a fourth or subsequent pore within
four weeks from the dace of leaving the third port.
(.) After the expiration of four weeks from the time of tearing the third port, for all calls
at Cyprus ports within a period of four weeks :

2. O n every vessel which has not come from a foreign port and which calls at ports in
Cyprus without calling at a foreign port, ac the first two ports called at in any period of four
weeks:

up to a m a x i m u m of six pounds, no charge being made at a third or subsequent port if called at
within the said period of four weeks.
3. Ships arriving at anv port in Cyprus from a foreign port or from another port in Cyprus
and leaving inch port in Cyprus without having taken cargo and withont having landed or
taken on board passengers, and having ou board empty barrels or empty cases only and
discharging such empty barrels or empcy eases and no other cargo :

but not exceeding the m a x i m u m amount of Six Pounds.
4. Dues payable iu respect of any ship, other than a steamer, may be compounded for by
the payment in advance of one shilling for each ton of the .'hip's registered tonnage for every
half year. A half year shall be deemed to be any period between the lit January and the 30th
June or between the 1st July and the 31st December in any year.
5. Full dnes are payable in respect of any ship hired or chartered by His Majesty's
Government for the conveyance of troops or stores but which is also employed withont the
oonsenc of the proper anchoricy of the Admiralty for the importation of goods oeher than goods
or stores for His Majesty's service.
6. For the conveyance of goods with the consent of the proper authority of the Admiralty
by any transport or ship hired or chartered by His Majesty's Government, the person importing
•uch goods shall pay in lieu of duet a snm equal to one shilling per ton oc the amount of such
goods with a minimum amount offiveshillings.

EXEMPTIONS.
Ships of war.
Transports in His Majesty's service.
Ships hired or chartered by His Majesty's Government for the conveyance of troops or
stores for His Majesty's service,"and flying the Admiralty transport flag.
Yachts belonging to recognized yacht clubs and wholly in ballast.
Shine which having entered a pore nnder stress of weather or for obtaining provisions or
water shall leave ie wichout having effected any commercial transaction ocher than che landing
of passengers under scress of weather.
•Steam tngs employed solely in towing and not having goods or passengers on board.
Ships which have entered a port for the purpose of loading or discharging cargo and which
are prevented, through stress of weather or quarancine restrictions, from loading or discharging
any cargo.
Ships which enter a pore wholly in ballast and leave without having loaded cargo and
withont having landed or taken on board passengers or cargo or having effected any commercial
transaction.
Ship* calling at a port in Cyprus for orders or medical inspection only and without having
effected any commercial transaction proceeding to another port in Cyprus. Provided that the
towin-** of lighters and the conveyance of hamals from the oue port to the other port shall not
be deemed to be a commercial transaction.
Boats licensed under the Boats Regulation Law, 1884.
Ships under 10 sons registered tonnage owned by persons domiciled in Cyprus.
Ships of the Khedivial Mail Steamship and Graving Dock Company Limited calling
at the ports both of Larnaca and Famagusta o n the Cyprus-Palestine service are exempt
from the Dayment of any dues under the Shipping Dues Laws, 1917 and 1932, in respect
of their call at the port of Famagusta.
