NOTE.
B y His Majesty's Onier in Council dated the 6th day
of February. 192.1. intituled the Cyprus (Legislative
Council) Order in Council, 1925, it is ordered, inter alia,
as follows:—

C L A U S E
'•).—The Council shall consist of the Governor,
w h o is usually to preside, of nine Official Members, and
of fifteen Elected Members. Provided that the Council
shall noe be disqualified from the transaction of business
by reason of any vacancies among the Official Members
or the Elected Members.

C L A U S E
4.—The Official Members of the Counci shall
ba tha persons from time to time lawfully discharging
tha functions of the respective offices of Colonial Secretary,
Attorney-General, and Treasurer of tha Colony (referred
to as ex officio Members), and auch other persons holding
Public Office under the Crown in the Colony, and not
exceeding six in number at any one time (referred to as
Nominated Official Members) as the Governor m a y from
time to time nominate and appoint by an Instrument
under the Public Seal of the Colony subject to confir.
mation or disallowance by His Majesty signified through
a Secretary of State.

C L A U S E
5.—Of the fifteen Elected Members of the
Council three shall be elected by M o h a m m e d a n persons
duly qualified as electors who are resident within the
Electoral Districts prescribed for the election of Mohom.

election of non-Mohammedan Members.*
