INSURANCE OF LETTERS.
Xetters for Great Britain, certain British Possessions and Foreign Countries can
be insured, subject to limitations and the Postal Insurance Regulations, 1925, at the
Post Offices at Famagusta, Kyrenia, Larnaca, Limassoi, Nicosia, Paphos, Pedoulas,
Platres and Troodos.
The m a x i m u m sum of insurance which m a y be effected on letters addressed to
Great Britain and Egypt is £120.
The fees payable on letters for countries to which the system of insurance extends /
are as follows:—

Insurance fee for every £12 or fraction of that amount of the sum assured 2cp.
The registration and insurance fees must be pre-paid in addition to the full postage.
Compensation for the loss of an insured letter, or its contents, will not exceed the
amount of the actual loss and will in no case exceed the maximum sum of insurance
admitted by the country of destination.
PARCEL POST.
I N L A N D .
The rates of postage on parcels intended for deliver}* within the Colony are as
follows :—
For a parcel not exceeding 3ft.in weight
For a parcel exceeding 3 It. but not exceeding 7 lb.
For a parcel exceeding 7 lb. but not exceeding 11 lb

Parcels are accepted for, and received from, all countries which have adopted the
Parcels Post system, at various rates of postace.
Direct parcel post mails arc exchanged "between Cvprus and Great Britain and
Cyprus and Egypt.
The rates of postage on parcels addressed to Great Britain are :—

The limits of size are generally 3 feet G inches in length and 6 feet in length and rirth

The limit of weight is 22 lb.
RE-DIRECTION.
Parcels re-directed from one Post Office to another in Cyprus shall be liable to additional
postage at the full inland rate for each re-direction.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE
The Island Postmaster shall not be liable to make good any claim arising out of the loss
damage or delay of parcels sent by post.

A system of compensation for loss of or damage to uninsured parcels is in force between
Cyprus, Great Britain, Egypt and France. The maximum amount of compensation payable is £1.
CUSTOM HOUSE DECLARATION.
The sender of each parcel for abroad will be required to fill up a Custom House Declaration
Form. Upon this form must be given an accurate statement of tbe contents and value date
of posting, and the sender's signature and address.

CUSTOMS REGULATIONS.
Parcels on arrival in Cyprus will be liable to examination by an Officer of Customs
who will assess the amount of Customs dues to be charged thereon. The Customs dues will be
collected at the time of delivery, and no parcel can be delivered until the Customs and all o r W
charges are paid.

Parcels found to contain forbidden articles and parcels, the contents and value of which
have been falsely declared, may be dealt with. according to the laws on the subiect An2
