INSURANCE OF PARCELS AND BOXES.
AUTHORITY.
Parcels and boxes for the United Kingdom, certain British Possessions and Foreign
Countries can be insured, subject to a limit of insured value and the Postal Insurance
Regulations, 1925, at the Post Offices at Famagusta, Kyrenia, Larnaca, Limassoi,
Nicosia, Paphos. Pedoulas, Platres and Troodos.
Tho limit of insured value on parcels and boxes addressed to the United Kingdom is
£120 ; and £50 in the case of Egypt.
The fees payable on parcels and boxes for countries to which the system of insurance
extends are :—

The insurance fee must be pre-paid in addition to the full postage.
The amount of compensation payable for the loss or damage of an insured parcel or
box, or its contents, will not exceed the amount of the actual loss or damage and will in
no case exceed the m a x i m u m sum of insurance admitted by the country of destination.
A parcel containing jewellery if addressed to a British Possession or Foreign Country
must be insured for as m u c h of the journey as the regulations permit, and for at least
part of its value.
Parcels containing coin cannot be accepted for transmission by parcel post even if
insured.

Issued at the Post Offices at Larnaca, -Nicosia, Liiiiassol, Famagusta, Paphos, Kvrenia,
M o r p h o u . Lefkara, Lefka, Rizocarpaso, Polis, Lefkoniko, Kilani, and at Troodos, Piatres and
Pedoulas during tlie s u m m e r season, on any Office in the United K i n g d o m , Egypt, Gibraltar, Malta
British Agency in Morocco and other conntries where M o n e y Orders are issued and paid through
the intermediary of the United K i n g d o m or Egypt at the following rates of commission : °

Additional Commission is charged on M o n e y Orders for British Possessions, Colonies and
Foreign Coi-nrnc-i --.cut through the intermediary of the Cnited Kingdom, which is deducted
from the a m o u n t of the M o n e y Order as advised from L o n d o n as follows:—

M o n e y Orders for countries served through the Post Office of the United K i n g d o m will
lie converted at a rate approximating to the market rate of exchange, and will be subject to the
ordinary reduction of commission payable on " t h r o u g h " Orders.
Telegraphic M o n e y Order Service is established between Cyprus and England.
T h e remitter of a Telegraph M o n e y Order is required to pay in additiou to the ordinary
M o n e y Order rv>mraission. the cost of the Telegram of Advice at rhe deferred (or ordinary}
rate per w o r d from Cyprus to England and also a Supplementary Fee of -Utcp.
T h e Telegraph M o n e y Order Offices in Cyprus are Nicosia, Larnaca, Limas*ol
