(6). The landing in Cyprus of cattle, horns, hoofs, bones, fodder. litter or dang from
vessels arriving from places where cattle disease bas "been publicly notified to exist,
is prohibited.
(7). (For hides and skins see below).
(8). The importation of rags and old clothing into anj port or place of the Island of
Cyprus, other than Larnaca, is prohibited, and such importation is liable to be
prohibited iu any case in which the Chief Medical Officer or any Officer acting for or
delegated by him certifies that the importation of rags or old clothing is likely to be
injurious to the public health.

S K I N S . — T h e
importation of hides and skins of all equines, ruminants and
swine is prohibited except at the Port of Larnaca, and then with the permission of
the Health Officer of the Port to land them, and after disinfection.
T h e importation of hides and skins of goats, sheep, and similar small ruminants,
and swine is prohibited except at the ports of Larnaca, Limassoi, Famagusta and
Kyrenia, and then with the permission of the Health Officer of the Port to land them,
and after disinfection.
A certificate by the Health Officer of the Port that the disinfection has been
accomplished must be presented to the Customs Authorities before the removal of
the hides and skins from the place set aside for their disinfection is allowed.
The importation into the Island of old or used clothes for the purposes of sale or
commerce is absolutely prohibited.
The importation of saccharine is prohibited except in small quantities not exceeding 2Ibs-
and then only with the permission of the Chief Medical Officer previously obtained in writing.

The importation of indecent or obscene prints, paintings, photographs, books, cards, litho–
graphic or other engravings, or any other indecent or obscene articles is prohibited.
The importation of all postcards of private manufacture with any pictorial design
not previously approved for transmission through the Post Offices of Cyprus is prohibited.
The importation of waste or refuse of "cotton wool known as " Flock" is absolutely
prohibited.
All fruits and vegetables (a) in a raw state,
whether fresh or dried (save as provided at (</) below).
All trees aud plants and every living part of a tree
or plant including seeds (b), (save as provided at (d)
below).
Allflowers,cut or otherwise.
All dried plants andflowers(d).
Staves which have been used for vine props or
similar purposes.
All biuding which has been used for vines or other
plants.
Earth and gravel, leaf and garden mould.
All animal and vegetable manures, except guano,
bone dust and otber fossil or chemically prepared
manures.
Hay and straw, compressed or otherwise (<*).
Vine (including the fresh or dry parts of it,
but excluding raisins and currants), unless the
special permission of the High Commissioner is
first obtained.

(a) Potatoes ior seed purposes only m a y be imported at Laruucn und Fa:nagu*.tu in such quautm.** and from such countries
only as shall l>*- specially authorised by the Director of Agriculture. The potato**, must be imported direct from the country
of origin, provided that they m a y be transhipped if they remain in Customs charge while at the transhipping port. Every
consi eminent of potatoe** for seed purpose*) must be accompanied by the documents <.-t out iu Schedules A and B of Order in Council

the Director of Agriculture or an inspecting orficer acting on liU behalf.
(b) The importation of cotton seed from any country shall be permitted only if such cotton seed is accompanied by a Declaration
and Certificate in the prescribed form shewing the place of origin and declaring it free from Phylloxera. Mealy Hug (Crossotusoma
Aegyptiacum), the Leaser Cotton W o r m (Aletia luridula). Boll Weevil (Anthnnomus grandisi. Colorado Beetle, Pink Cotton Boll W o r m
(Gelechia GOSMT. Piella), and such other disease as may be notified in the Cyprtu Gazette.

(»-.) EXEMPTION'S.—Nothing in this Order contained shall be deemed tn prohibit the importation >>f the following articles :—Wheat
barley and other cereals, and all dry seeds (except cotton seed) properly cleaned from the husk, strut*- and earth. Acorns, vallonia
almonds, walnuts, chestnuts and other nuts, (free from the outer husks, leaves, stalks ami branches), except ground nuts. Preserves
Crystallized fruits. Bottled and canned fruits and vegetables hermetically sealed in proper receptacles. Flour and meal of all kinds and
every preparation thereof.

aromatic plants used for medicinal purposes and for dyeing, if free of
