BALLAST.

FAMAGUSTA HARBOUR DUES.
(1). All vessels usb*.°- any part of the Inner Harbour at Famagusta are charged the
following rates, viz. .*
(c.) Anchorage and Mooring—
-£$cp. per diem for every ton of the vessel's tonnage ; provided that in the case of a
vessel under 75 tons the charge does not exceed the sum of Is. per diem.
(b.) Berthage alongside Wharf or .Jetty—
-f$cp. per diem for every ton of the vessel's tonnage. (This rate is in addition to the
rate chargeable in respect of Anchorage and Mooring as provided above.)
(c) Cranage—
For each single lift not exceeding 1 ton ... ...

double lift (i.e.. any lift requiring special adjustment of the gear;

(2). One-half of the rates chargeable in respect of Anchorage and Mooring under the
preceding Regulation is paid :
(«.) By all vessels anchoring in the outer harbour ;
(b.) By sailing vessels (for such period beyond seven days) remaining in the inner harbour
in excess of seven days ;
(r.) By sailing vessels arriving and sailing in ballast or calling for orders.
(3). For the purpose of the rates herein prescribed any portion of the day is counted as one
day.
(4). The tons chargeable are Register Tons according to the rules of measurement for the
time being in force in the Cnited Kingdom.
(5). The rates above mentioned are charged in addition to the usual Shipping Dues now
payable at other pons in Cyprus.
(8). The following craft are exempt from the rates herein prescribed :—
(A.) All vessels laying np for the winter in the Inner Harbour, provided that they moor
to such places as the Harbour Master directs.
(b.) All lighters and boats licensed under Law 2 of 1884. discharging cargo from vessels
in Harbour or taking cargo on board such vessels.
(•*.) All vessels seeking refuge during a storm, provided that no commercial transaction
takes place and they depart as soon as weather permits.
Xote (1).—"Per diem and portion of a day" mav be taken as meaning 24 hours or nartion
thereof from time of arrival. (C.C.C. lS6 06 "of 21st July, 19<_'G.) "

the Government of Cyprus.
