SPECIFICATION OF TAXES. DUTIES. &C.
PILOTS' LICENSES.
The m a x i m u m remuneration which can be claimed by any duly licensed pilot for Pilotage
of vessels either into or out of the Harbour of Famagusta :—
1. For vessels not exceeding 1,500 tons register £ 1
2. For vessels exceeding 1,500 tons register £ 1 10a.
BOAT AND BOATMEN'S LICENSES.
For a boat not exceeding 6 tons burthen, a charge of 4s. per annum.
For a boat exceeding 6 tons burthen, 4s. for thefirst6 cons and an additional charge of ls.
in respect of every ton in exess thereof, up to a m a x i m u m of 10s. a year.
For boatmen, a charge of 2s. per annum.
STAMP DUTIES.
A proportional duty on the nomiual value is levied, in accordance with tbe subjoined tariff on
all Promissory Xotes, Orders for Payment, Deligacions, Bills of Exchange. Acknowledgments of

all kinds Deposit. Certificates, all Xegociable Documents, all Deeds or Contracts embodying any
undertaking, guarantee, partnership or other agreement and stipulacing any fixed sum, and
generally all deeds and titles other than those enumerated in the Schedule of fixed Stamp Duties,
in which some fixed consideration or amount is stipulated except Policies of Insurance.

.Note.—Certain recognizances and other documents are exempt from stamp duty. Also receipts
written upon promissory notes, bills of exchange, written obligacions or other similar documencs
duly stamped.
