BOAT AND BOATMEN'S LICENSES.
For a boat not exceeding 6 tons burthen, a charge of 4s. per annum.
For a boat exceeding 6 tons burthen, 4s. for thefirst6 tons and an additional charge of 1*
in respect of every ton in excess thereof, uptoa maximum of 10s. a year.
For boatmen, a charge of 2s. per annum.

F I N E S .
Fines are levied in the different Courts under the Ottoman and English Law as from time
to time altered or modified by Cyprus Statute Law.

Forfeitures are similarly inflicted.

In matters regulated by "The Rules of Court. 1886," iu matters
arising under the authority of clause 70 of " The High Court of Justice
Ordinance. 1£79," and in proceedings in bankruptcy under th? provi–
sion* of the Ottoman Commercial Code, the following fees are appointed
to i>e taken, iu the Supreme Court, in the several District Courts, in
any office which is connected with any of those Courts and by any
oflficer attached to auy of those Courts, in respect of the several pro–
ceedings mentioned:—
On sealing a writ of summons in any action :—
Where the amount claimed is £20 or under
Where the amount claimed is over £20 ; where uo liquidated
sum is claimed ; or where the recovery of mouey i« not the
object of the action ....
On sealing a summon? to any per.*on to attend a* witness or
otherwise ...
On application to re-enter action for hearing where it has been
entered and struck out for default of appearance and is not re–
entered by leave of the Court :—
Where the amount claimed is £20 or uuder
Where the amount claimed is over £2U : where no liquidated
sum i? claimed ; or where the recovery of money is not tbe
object of the action...
