EXCISE DUTIES—continued.
RATE OF LICENSE DUTIES CHARGEABLE IN RESPECT OF THE SALE OF
INTOXICATING LIQUORS.
For every hotel, cafe, restaurant or other place used for the sale of intoxicating liquors by retail,
an anuual perceutage on the rental or yearly value of the premises so used after the rate of 30
per cent, for thefirst£ 2 5 nnd 15 percent, for all further rental or yearly value, bat so that the
license for a hotel shall not exceed the s u m of £ 6 per annum, and so that the license for any
other premises so used shall not exceed the 311m of £ 1 2 per annum, and so that the lowest annual
rate of duty chargeable shall be f^r premises in any of the towns of Nicosia. Larnaca, Famagusta
(including Varoshia) and Limassoi twenty-five shillings, and for premises in any other place
twelve shillings.
For selling by retail in any tent or booth or in tbe open air two shillings per day.

ACTIONS BEFORE THE SCPBEIIE COCRT AND THE DISTRICT COURTS
(a).
In matters regulated by " T h e Rules of Court. 1*>S6," in matters
arising under the authority of clause 70 of *• The High Court of Justice
Ordinance, 1379," and in proceedings in bankruptcy under the provi–
sions of the Ottoman Commercial Code, tbe following fees are appoiuted
to be taken, in the Supreme Court, in the several District Courts, in
any office which is connected with any of those Courts and by any
officer attachsd to auy of those Courts, in respect of the several pro–
ceedings mentioned:—
On sealing a writ of summons in any action :—
W h e r e the amount claimed is £ 2 0 or under
W h e r e tbe amonnt claimed is over £ 2 0 ; where no liquidated
s u m is claimed ; or where the recovery of money is not the
object of the action ...
O n sealing a summons to any person to attend as witne33 or
otherwise ...
O n application to re-enter action for hearing where it has been
eutired aud struck out for default of appearance and is not re–
