DUTY—
continued.
DRAWBACK OF IMPORT DCTY.
Persons who pay import duty on guns brought wich them to Cyprus for sporting purposes
are entitled to have three-fourths of the amount refunded at the Custom House, Larnaca, in the
event of their taking the guns out of the Island within 5 vears ou production of the documents
referred to in Sec. 2 (a) and (/•) of Order in Council No. 19, Gazette 11 of 19ch October, 1381.
W h e u any Import Duty shall havo been paid in respect of auy wine, spirits, malt liquors,
tobacco, cigars, or articles of food supplied for the use of any mess on board any ol Her
Majesty's ships of war, a drawback of the amouut of the duty so paid may be allowed, or if
such goods are shipped from the Customs store before payment of duty, the amount of such
duty may bo remitted on the production of a certificate from the proper officer of Customs
that such goods have been actually shipped on board one of Her Majesty's ships, a receipt
from the Paymaster of such ship for the goods and a written undertaking from the ray-
master or other proper officer of such ship that if such goods or any part thereof shall be at
any time re-landed, the duty shall be paid thereou.
Iu lieu of drawback of import duty paid in respect of any wine, spirits, malt liquors,
tobacco, cigars or articles of food imported and subsequently actually consumed or used by
Her Majesty's Land Forces,fixedmoney allowances are paid out of the Island Treasury to
the
Officers and Soldiers of Her Majesty's Land Forces quartered within the Island.
T h e amount of duty paid on any article which m a y b e subsequently supplied to the High
Commissioner shall be refunded out of the Treasury on the order of the High Commissioner.
