FINES.
Fines are levied in the different Courts under the Ottoman and English Law as from time
to time altered or modified by Cyprus Statute Law.

Forfeitures arc similarly inflicted.

(a).
In matters regulated by "The Rules of Court, 18S6," in matters
arising under the authority of clause 70 of *

Ordinance, 1S79," and in proceedings in bankruptcy under the provi–
sions of the Ottoman Commercial Code, the following fees are appointed
to be taken, ia the Supreme Court, ia the several District Courts, in
any office which is connected with any of those Courts and by any
officer attached to any of those Courts, in respect- of the several pro-
ccedincrs mentioned:—
On sealing a writ of summons in any action :—
Where the amouut claimed is £20 or under
Where the amouut claimed is over £20: where no liquidated
sum is claimed ; or where the recovery of money is not the
object of the action ...
On sealing a summons to any persou to attend as witness or
otherwise ... ... ... ... ... ...
On application to re-enter action for hearing where it has been
eutered and struck out for default of appearance and is not re-
cutered by leave of the Court :—
Where tlio amount claimed is £20 or under
Where the amouut claimed is over £20 ; where no liquidated
sum is claimed ; or where the recoverv of monev is not the
object of the action... ...
On entering a judgment or any order for which no special fee is
