PROCLAMATION UNDER SECTION 7.

Whereas by section 7 of the Elections (House of Representatives and
Communal Chambers) Law, 1959 (hereinafter referred to as " the L a w " ) , 47 of 1959
it is provided that the Governor shall, after the coming into operation of
the Law, by proclamation published in the Gazette, appoint a date for the
election of members of the House of Representatives, which shall be the
date on which nominations of candidates shall be received :
N o w , therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in the Governor by the
said section 7 of the Law, I, Arthur Frederick John Reddaway, Companion
of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George, Officer
of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, do, by this, proclamation,
appoint Thursday, the 28th day of January, 1960, as the date for the election
of members of the House of Representatives.
Given under m y hand and the Public Seal of the Colony at Nicosia,
this 14th day of January, 1960.
