Legislation.
The Secretary of State for the Colonies has
intimated that the power of disallowance will not be
exercised in respect of the under-mentioned Laws :—
No. 1 of i960.'—A Law to make special provision
for matters connected with the Widows' and
Orphans' Pensions Fund.
No. 8 of i960.—A Law to make provision for the
Registration of Births which took place between
the ist April, 1955 and the 30th June, 1959, and
which have not been registered in accordance
with the Births and Deaths Registration Law.
No. 9 of i960.—A Law to repeal the Special
Court Laws, 1955 to 1959.

The following Laws, enacted by His Excellency
the Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony
of Cyprus, are published for general information
in Supplement No. 2, which forms part of this
Gazette:—
No. 13 of i960.—A Law to amend the English
School (Management and Control) Law.
No. 14 of i960.—A Law to provide for the
Management and Control of the English School
for Girls.

APPOINTMENT OF MARRIAGE OFFICER.
In exercise of the powers vested in him by
section 3 of the Foreign Marriage Law and by
section 3 of the Marriage Law, His Excellency the
Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. Ahmet
Sami, Administrative Assistant, 1st Grade, to be a
Marriage Officer for the District of Famagusta in
addition to the Commissioner, Famagusta, and any
other appointments made under the above Laws.
Made this 5th day of August, 1960.

CAP. 198 AND L A W S 22 OF 1955 AND 28 OF 1959.
O R D E R OF CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION
U N D E R SECTION 47.
Whereas by an order made by me on the 14th
October, 1958, and published under Notification
No. 1164 in the Gazette of the 30th October, 1958,
it was directed that the Pyrgos (Nicosia District)
Co-operative Store Society Ltd., should be wound
up;
And whereas a liquidator has been appointed for
the purpose under Notification No. 17 in the Gazette
of the 7th January, 1960 ;
And whereas the affairs of the said society have
been wound up ;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested
in me as Greek Registrar of Co-operative Societies
by section 47 of the Co-operative Societies Law
(Cap. 198 and Laws 22/55 and 28/59), I hereby
order that the registration of the Pyrgos (Nicosia
District) Co-operative Store Society Ltd., shall be
cancelled and that the said society shall be dissolved
as from the date hereof.
Given under my hand at Nicosia, this 30th
day of July, 1960.
