Law for the time being in force governing the adop–
tion of children, and his father and mother, but no
other person :
Provided that where the personal status of a
deceased contributor allowed him to have more than
one wife and the deceased had more than one wife
at the date of his death then every such wife shall be
a widow of the deceased for the purposes of this rule.
Dismissal or improper resignation.
14.—(1) If a contributor shall cease to be a
contributor following his dismissal from service on
account of his having been convicted of a criminal
offence or following his dismissal from service for
any disciplinary offence or if a contributor shall have
left service without permission or without giving such
notice as shall be required by law or in accordance
with the custom of his trade or calling, he shall be
paid only the amount of the contributions credited to
his account as at the date his account was closed
pursuant to the provisions of Rule 12 :
Provided that the Board may pay to such contri–
butor the deposits credited to his account as at the
same date or such part of the same as it shall consider
fitting.
(2) Any deposits not paid shall remain in the
Fund and shall accrue for the benefit of remaining
contributors.
Payment of contributions and deposits.
15. Subject to the provisions of Rule 16, a contri–
butor who shall cease to be a contributor under any
of the following circumstances shall be paid, in
addition to the contributions credited to his account,
the following percentage of deposits :—

(a) If he is discharged as redundant .. 100
(b) If he is discharged or if he retires on
account of old age or ill health

{c) If he retires—
(i) After 7 years' service and over .. 100
(ii) After 6 years' service and over .. 90
(iii) After 5 years' service and over .. 80
(iv) After 4 years' service and over . . 70
(v) After 3 years' service and over .. 60
(vi) After 2 years' service and over .. 40
Special provisions on transfer to a pensionable office.
16.—(1) A contributor who shall cease to be a
regular employee on being transferred to a post which
is a pensionable office under the Pensions Law or
any other Law may elect on being transferred, by
notice in writing to the Board, to defer the payment
to him of the contributions standing to the credit of
his account :
Provided that any such election shall be made
before he shall cease to be a contributor as provided in
paragraph (2) of Rule 6 ; and
Provided further that any such election shall be
irrevocable.
(2) In such a case the account of such contributor
shall not be closed as provided in Rule 12 and interest
shall continue to be credited thereto.
(3) Upon such contributor subsequently leaving
the service of the Government or upon his dying
whilst in such service his account shall then be closed
in manner provided in Rule 12 and there shall be
paid to him or to any other person or persons to
whom by virtue of these rules or otherwise payment
may lawfully be made, the amount standing to the
credit of his account as if on such event he had
ceased to be a contributor.
Contributions and deposits not to be assigned or attached.
17. Contributions and deposits shall not be assign–
able or transferable or liable to be attached, seques–
tered or levied upon for or in respect of any debt or
claim whatsoever :
Provided that any sum or sums owing to the
Government by a contributor may be deducted from
any sum paid out of the Fund to or on account of
such contributor.
Amendment of Rules.
18. These Rules may be varied or amended by
the Governor in consultation with such trade unions
and staff associations representative of regular
employees as he shall deem fitting.

APPOINTMENT OF LIQUIDATOR.
With reference to Notification No. 314 published
in the Gazette No. 4313 of the 24th March, i960,
it is hereby notified for general information that in
exercise of the powers vested in me by section 41 (1)
of the Co-operative Societies Law (Cap. 198 and
Laws 22/55 and 28/59), I have appointed Mr. I.
Papaneophytou, Co-operative Officer, Greek Depart–
ment of Co-operative Development, to be the
Liquidator of the Dhiorios (Kyrenia District)
Co-operative Store Society Limited.
