APPOINTMENT OF GOVERNOR'S DEPUTY.

Governor.
I,
Hugh Mackintosh Foot, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Officer
of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Governor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over the Colony of Cyprus, in exercise of the powers conferred by Clause X X A of the
Letters Patent bearing date the Tenth day of March, 1925, constituting the Office of Governor
and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus and providing for the Government thereof
as amended by Letters Patent bearing dates the Twelfth day of November, 1931, the First
day of February, 1943, the Twenty-fifth day of June, 1947, the Fifteenth day of September,
1953, and the Thirty-first day of May, 1955, hereby appoint Arthur Frederick John Reddaway,
Esquire, Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Administrative Secretary of the
Colony of Cyprus, to be my Deputy during my temporary absence from Cyprus and until
the return to Cyprus of George Evelyn Sinclair, Knight Bachelor, Companion of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Officer of the Most Excellent
Order of the British Empire, Deputy Governor ; and in that capacity to exercise all the
powers and authorities vested in me.
Given under m y hand and the Public Seal of the Colony at Nicosia, this 8th day of
January, 1960.

His Excellency the Governor, Sir Hugh Mackintosh Foot, G.C.M.G., K.C.V.O., O.B.E.,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus, left the Colony of Cyprus
on the 10th January, on duty.
