Dogs.—Landing prohibited save by a permit from a Veterinary Officer or a Port Medical

Officer.
Dogs whose landing has been permitted may only be landed at the ports of
Famagusta, Larnaca or Limassoi and, on arrival in Cyprus, are subject to detention
and isolation at the expense of the owner or importer for a period of six months from
the date of landing in premises under the control of the Director of Agriculture.
The Director of Agriculture may, however, in the case of a dog imported from a
country in which he has reason to believe that the incidence of Rabies is comparatively
high, direct that the period of quarantine shall be extended for a further period not
exceeding three months.
.-• No dog is allowed to be landed unless it is accompanied by a certificate issued by
a qualified Veterinary Surgeon in the country of origin ind'cating its breed, age, sex
and markings, the state of its health and the time during which it has been in the
country of origin prior to exportation : Provided that the Director of Agriculture
may in his discretion waive these requirements."-"
Goats.—Importation prohibited.. The Governor in Council may, however, permit
importation to a limited extent for the Courban Bairam or for any other special object,
subject to such regulations and restrictions as shall be imposed by the order permitting
importation.
Poultry.—Importation from Egypt, Palestine and Syria prohibited.

which in the opinion of the Comptroller or the Collector of Customs may give rise
to deception.—Importation absolutely prohibited.

BONES.—The importation of unmanufactured bones is prohibited except by special
licence under the hand of the Colonial Secretary.
Semi-manufactured bones may be imported at Larnaca (or at such other port as the
Director of Medical Services by licence under his hand may permit on application
• before arrival of the bones) on the conditions prescribed in the Importation of Bones
Order, 1929.
