2. Zone Time (i.e., 2 hours fast on Greenwich) was adopted in Cyprus a3 from the
14th November, 1921.
REMARKS ON THE WEATHER EXPERIENCED DURING THE YEAR 1936.
The Mean Temperature as recorded in the screen at Nicosia during 1936 was 67.25°F.,
as against 66°.7F. for the last 15 years. The Mean Maximum was 79°.lF.. and the Mean
Minimum 55°.4F., a3 against 7S°.5F. and 54°.9F. respectively for the last 15 years.
The average Rainfall for the whole Island for 1936 was 22.86 inches.
The rainv and cool season is from October to March. The climate is varied ; hot and
drv in the plains in summer, damp on the sea-shore and cool on the hills.
The Mean Pressure given in the Return is reduced to 32°F., Mean Gravity and Mean Sea
