:—Bulls, cows, oxen, heifers, calves, camels, horses, mules, asBes, sheep, goats,
swine and poultry: Importation restricted to the ports of Larnaca, Famagusta,
Limassoi, Kyrenia and Paphos, landing to be made in quarantine and with the
permission of the Director of Agriculture, or an Inspector of Cattle Disease, or a
Health Officer, and subject to the provisions of the Orders and Regulations regarding
the importation of animals published in Gazette No. 1154 of 12th February, 1915.
The importation of cattle, sheep and swine from Turkey and Syria is prohibited
save under a permit previously obtained from the Director of Agriculture and subject
to any conditions he m a y deem'fit to impose. (The Importation ofAnimals (Turkey

Doos.-—The importation of dogs other than those imported direct from the United Kingdom
without transhipment is prohibited.
Dogs imported direct from the United Kingdom without transhipment may only
be landed at the ports of Famagusta, Larnaca and Limassoi and are subject to four
months quarantine on arrival in Cyprus. The Customs Authorities require satis–
factory proof of place of origin and course of shipment of every dog imported in the
form prescribed by the regulations.
RIFLES.—Importation prohibited. This prohibition does not apply to rifles imported
with the sanction of the Governor.
The importation into the Island of the under-mentioned goods, articles and merchandise
is prohibited absolutely:
(1). Silver or copper coins.
(2). BesbUks, altiliks or metallique piastres.

Gracious Majesty Queeu Victoria.
(4). All sovereigns and half sovereign-, which are below the least current weight as
denned in ••The Coinage Act, 1370," or are otherwise not legally current in England.
(5). The substance Known as Hashish.
(6). Sal*, other than table and rock salt.
(7). " Rocket " or " tracer " sporting cartridges.
(8). Any weapon, of whatever description, designed for the discharge of any noxious
Uquid, gas, or other thing or any ammunition containing or designed or adapted
to contain any such noxious thing
The importation of the under-mentioned goods, articles and merchandise is subject to the
following restrictions .*
(1). The importation into the Island offire-armsother than rifles, detached portions of
fire-arms and side-arms is prohibited except—
(a.) at the ports of Larnaca, Limassoi and Famagnsta, and
(i.) with a special license issued by the Comptroller of Customs under Law 24 of
1S79, Sec. 30, as amended by Law 9 of 1927 and Law 12 of 1927.
(2). The importation of gunpowder (except for the use of his Majesty's Naval and
Military forces) is prohibited except—
(a.) at the ports of Larnaca and Limassoi (for Famagnsta see (5) (2) below).
(b.) in kegs or barrels of a capacity not exceeding ten okes or infiasltsof 1 lo. or of
* 76. except where the Governor has by special permission authorised the
importation in some other manner.
(3). The importation of shot, percussion caps, cartridges (other than baU cartridges)
and side-arms is restricted to the ports of Larnaca. Limassoi aud Famagusta.
(4). The importation of ball cartridges or of ball cartridge-cases except for the use of
His Majesty's Naval and Military forces is prohibited, except—
(a.) at the ports of Larnaca, Limassoi and
(5.) with the special permission of the Governor (for Famagusta see (5) (2) below.)
(5). (I). The importation of dynamite, nitroglycerine,gun-cotton, fulminate of mercury
or of other metals or of any kindred substance is prohibited—
(a.) except at the port of Larnaca (for Famagusta see (2) below), and
