METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATIONS.

2. Zone Time (i.e. 2 hours fast on Greenwich) was adopted in Cyprus as from the
14th November, 1921.
R E M A R K S O N T H E W E A T H E R EXPERIENCED DURING T H E YEAR 1931.
The Mean Temperature as recorded in the screen at Nicosia during 1931 was 66°.7F.,
.as against 66°.3F. for the last 15 years. The Mean Maximum was 78°.5F, and the Mean
Minimum 54°.8F.

The average Rainfall for the whole Island for 1931 was 17.82 inches.
The rainy and cool season is from October to March- The climate is varied ; hot and
drv in the plains in summer, damp on the sea-shore and cool on the hills.
The Mean Pressure given in the Return is reduced to 32°F., Mean Gravity and Mean Sea
Level.
