Answers.
Prisoners of good behaviour and industrious in labou
sentenced to not less than two years are, if males, afte
three-fourths, or, if females, after two-thirds of thei
term of imprisonment has expired, recommended to th
Governor for remission of their sentence, with, o
without, Ticket of Leave.

occasion of a death in prison during the past year ?

the result of execution. N o inquest was held, but th<
Medical Officer certified in each case that death was dut
to dislocation of the cervical vertebrae.

In addition to above, fresh fruit in limited quantities may be-
supplied when so ordered by- the Jledical Officer of the Prison ;
also extra diet of 40 drams olives and 40 drama raisins are
supplied once a week, \Jt- raisins on Tuesdays and olives on
Saturdays to all long sentence male and female prisoners daring
the months when no fruit is given.
