LIMITS OF W E I G H T A N D SIZE.—continued.
Live bees and silkworms are allowed to pass hy letter post on condition that they are
sent in suitable cases, and so packed as to avoid all risk of injury to officers of the Post
Office or to other packets.
Printed Papers and Commercial Papers must be posted either withoat a cover or in
an unfastened envelope, or in a cover which can be easily removed for the purpose of
examination without breaking any seal, ortearingany paper, or separating any adhering
surfaces. A packet posted without a cover may not be fastened or otherwise treated so
as to prevent easy examination. It may, however, be secured with string.
Samples must be sent in such a manner as to be easy of examination and, when
practicable, must be sent in covers open at the ends.

To Great Britain and Northern Ireland, all British Possessions,

INSURANCE OF LETTERS.
Letters for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, certain British Possessions and
Foreign Countries can be insured, subject to limitations and the Postal Insurance
Regulations, 1925, at the Post Offices at Famagusta, Kyrenia, Larnaca, Limassoi,
Nicosia, Paphos, Pedoulas, Platres and Troodos.
The maximum sum of insurance which may be effected on letters addressed to
Great Britain and Egypt is £120.
The fees payable on letters for countries to which the system of insurance extends (
are as follows :—

Insurance fee for every £12 or fraction of that amount of the sum assured
The registration and insurance fees must be pre-paid in addition to the full postage.
Compensation for the loss of an insured letter, or its contents, will not exceed the
amount of the actual loss and will in no case exceed the maximum sum of insurance
admitted by the country of destination.

The special fee, payable in addition to ordinary postage, late or registration fees, on I
any kind of postal packet, that is, letters, postcards, printed papers and commercial (
papers and samples, intended for transmission by the Desert Route (Service Trans-)
desertique Syro-Iraquien Damas-Bagdad) is 3cp. per ounce or fraction thereof.
PARCEL POST.—INLAND.
The rates of postage on parcels intended for delivery within the Colony are as
follows:—

FOREIGN.
Parcels are accepted for, and received from, all countries which have adopted the
Parcels Post system, at various rates of postage.
Direct parcel post mails are exchanged between Cyprus and Great Britain and
Cyprus and Egypt.
The rates of postage on parcels addressed to Great Britain are:
For a parcel not exceeding 3ft.in weight
For a parcel exceeding 3ft.but not exceeding 7ft... .. " -
