Live bees and silkworms are allowed to pass by letter post on condition that they are
sent in suitable cases, and so packed as to avoid ail risk of injury to officers of the Post
Office or to other packets.
Printed Papers and Commercial Papers must be posted either without a cover or in
an unfastened envelope, or in a cover which can be easily removed for the purpose of
examination without breaking any seal, or tearing any paper, or separating any adhering
surfaces. A packet posted without a cover may not be fastened or otherwise treated so
as to prevent easy examination. It may, however, be secured with string.
Samples must be sent in such a manner as to be easy of examination and, when
practicable, must be sent in covers open at the ends.

To Great Britain, all British Possessions, Egypt and all foreign

INSURANCE OF LETTERS.
Letters for Great Britain, certain British Possessions and Foreign Countries can
be insured, subject ro limitations and the Postal Insurance Regulations, 1925, at the
Post Offices at Famagusta, Kyrenia, Larnaca, Limassoi, Nicosia, Paphos, Pedoulas,
Platres and Troodos.
The maximum sum of. insurance which may be effected on letters addressed to
Great Britain and Egypt is £120.

The registration and insurance fees must be pre-paid in addition tc the full postage.
Compensation for the loss of an insured letter, or its contents, wiil not exceed the
amount of the actual loss and will in no case exceed the maximum sum of insurance
admitted by the country of destination.

FOREIGN.
Parcels are accepted for, and received from, all countries which have adopted the
Parcels Post system, at various rates of postage.
Direct parcel post mads are exchanged between Cyprus and Great Britain and
Cyprus and Egypt.
The rates of postage on parcels addressed to Great Britain are :
For a parcel not exceeding 3 lb. in weight
For a parcel exceeding 3 tb. but not exceeding 7 tb.
For a parcel exceeding 7* tb. but not exceeding 11 tb.
For a parcel exceeding 11 tb. but not exceeding 22 tb.
The limits of size are generally 3 feet 6 inches in length and 6 feet in length and°--*irth
combined.
