Disqualification of Members.
C L A U S E 12.—No person shall be capable of being
elected a m e m b e r of the Council, or, having been elected,
shall remain a m e m b e r of tbe Council, w h o —
(1) is a judce of any Court in the Colony - or
(2) is a public contractor; or
(3) is under 25 years of age ; or
(4) is not a British subject; or
(5) is unable to speak, read and write one of the
following languages. English, Turkish. Greek : or
(6) is not qualified to be registered and is not actually
registered as a voter for some electoral district; or
(7) ia an uncertified bankrupt; or
(8) has been dismissed from the Government service
in consequence of an offence involving moral
(9) has been debarred from practisins as n leiral or
medical practitioner by order of any competent
authority ; or
(10) has been convicted of any offence and sentenced
to imprisonment for a term not !e»s than six
months, until the expiration or remission of such
sentence or of the unexpired residue t!i**i*>*«>f.
Oath of Alleqiiw..
C L A U S E 14.—No member of the Council shall -i* °r vote
therein until he shall have taken and su! •.-•'•'":bed the
Oath of Allegiance in the prescribed form before the
Council.
