METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATIONS.
1. Nicosia is in longitude 33°21'55", which gives time at 2 hours 13£ minutes
fast
on
Greenwich.
2. Zone Time {Le. 2 hours fast on Greenwich) was adopted in Cyprus as from the
14th November, 1921.
REMARKS ON T H E W E A T H E R EXPERIENCED DURING THE YEAR 1925.
The Mean Temperature as recorded in the screen at Nicosia during 1925 was 66°.2F.
as against 65°.9F. tor the last 15 years. The Mean Maximum 78°.IF ; Mean Minimum
54°.2F. as against 77°.6F. and 54°.3F. respectively for the last 15 years.
The average Rainfall for the whole Island for 1925 was 13.79 inches.
The rainy and cool season is from October to March. The climate is varied ; hot and
drv in the plains in summer ; damp on the sea-shore and cool on the hills.
The Mean Pressure given in the Return is reduced to 32°F., Mean Gravity and Mean Sea
Level.
