except where otherwise indicated.)
O n issue of Ilam

21j per cent, on amount for which Ilam is given-
For an order in " Bi Yedjhi-Sheri " cases (i.e., cases which the claim is rejected as bad at
law), 2\ per cent, of amount claimed if not exceeding 20,000 piastres ; and in claims exceeding
that sum, 2\ per cent, for thefirst20,000 piastres and 1 per cent, on the remainder.
For an order in " Bila-Beyin-i-vSherieh" cases (i.e., cases in which the claim is rejected
on failure to produce evidence ), 1 per cent, on amount claimed up to 20,000 piastres, and in
cases where the amount claimed exceeds 20,000, I per cent, on thefirst20,000 piastres and
$ per cent, on the remainder.
In cases settled in Court, for a Sened given on application of plaintiff, 2

upon the amount for which the case is so settled, but on application of defendant for a Sened*
2-jj per cent, on the difference between the amount claimed and that settled upon up to 20,000
piastres, and one per cent, on the 3um in excess of 20,000 piastres.
O n settlement of marriage contract, 2-J-r per cent, on the amount of the Mouadjel and
Mouedjel.
H a m s for divorce, 2} per cent, on the sums mentioned in the marriage contract.
Hodjets appointing representatives of lunatics, lost persons aud old people in dotage,
5 to 30 piastres at discretion of Cadi.
Hodjets respecting the release, gift or acknowledgment of property, 2 per cent, on the j

For wills drawn up before the Sheri Court, 20 per 1,000 on amounc mentioned in will.
For Hodjets proving the will, after deduction of one-third of the succession received by
executor, 2\ per cenc. ou the remainder, but if the third has been disposed of, 40 piastres only
is taken.
Hodjets for division of real property, Vakouf, Mulk or Arazi 15 per 1,000 on value of same.
Hodjets for sale or disposal of property of insane people and minors, 15 per 1000 on
valae.
O n Vakfieh prepared in the Sheri Court, 2\ per cent, on the value of the objecc made
Vakouf up to 20,000 piastres *, beyond this s u m -V per cent.; one-third of the fee so taken will
belong to Clerk and Registrar.
For Ilams changing Vakoufs from Idjare-i-Vahide to Idjaretein, 2J» per cent, on the
Mouadjele. A n d for exchanging Vaqf property with Mulk, 2-V per cent.
For H a m s for the appointment of Mudeiris, Sheik, I m a m , Khatib, Mouezzin. Devri-
K h a n and such like offices, from 25 to 200 piastres, discretionary with Cadi.
For Ilams of appointment as Mutavelli, Zaviedar, Mezraadar, Malikhane and such like
appointments, a fee not exceeding 25 per cent, of the yearly personal profit by the appointment.
For documents containing information respecting appointments, etc., an office fee
(Kalemie) not exceeding 50 piastres.
For an extract or a copy of an Ilam, Hodjet, Vakfieh, or other document, where the copy i

For making an inventory of the estate of a deceased Moslem who has died leaving heirs
under disability 2-V per cent, upon the nett value of the moveable property whichi forms the I

For an order appointing guardian of minors, their subsistence, certificates of majority,
etc., 10 to 30 piastres according to the case as " Kalemie " and " Kaidie,"
For an onier for the loan of properties of orphans or of the Evcaf, 1 per cenc. on the
amounc : on renewing the order, \ per cent.
O n examination and revision of the accounts of estates of minors, every three vears or at
longer intervals, if a surplus has accrued, 25 per 1,000 on the surplus after the deduction of ali
expenses. If the examination is made after one year, one-third of the fee and two-thirds if the
examination is made after two years. If there is no surplus then a fee is taken as " Kalemie "
as follows :—
