METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATIONS.
1. Nicosia is in longitude 33°21'5o", which gives time at 2 hours 13£ minutes fast on
Greenwich.
2. Zone Time (i.e. 2 hours fast on Greenwich) was adopted in Cvprus as from the
14th November, 1921.

The Mean Temperature a6 recorded in the screen at Nioosia during 1924 was 66°.6F.
as against 65°.SF. tor the last 15 years. The Mean Maximum 77°.8F ; Mean Minimum
55°.4F. as against 77°.5F. and 54°.2F. respectively for the last 15 years.
The average Rainfall for the whole Island for 1924 was 21.47 inches.
The rainv and cool season is from October to March. The climate is varied ; hot and
dry in the plains in summer ; damp on che sea-shore and cool on the hills.
The Mean Pressure given in the Return is reduced to 32°F., Mean Gravity and MeaD Sea
Level.
