General Hospital.
I. The quantity of water is limited, but sufficient. The
source is a well dug in the Hospital ground. Quality
good. A n additional supply has been laid on by m
service pipe from the P.W.D pumping station.
II. There are two full length enamelled iron baths, one for
male wards, one for female. Two closets for male
patients. T w o pails in each. Two closets for female
patients. One pail in each.
III. Night soil pails cleaned several times daily, disinfectants
used freely, and privies frequently white-washed.
Genera/ Hospital.
L. The quantity of water is practically unlimited. The
source is the town aqueduct. Quality is good ; but
the water is conducted in a primitive manner.
I [. There is a bath room lor each male and female department,
with one full length bath in each.
[II. Drainage of water through cemented conduits iuto cess–
pits ; earth closet, two lor male and two for female
patients, cleaned daily; disinfectants used freely ; the
closets are separate from the m:iin building and are
reached by a roofed passage.
General Hospital.
I. The water supply is limited but has been improved by an
additional pipe line. It is derived from the town water- •
works. Quality good, but hard.
II. T w o full length enamelled baths, one for male wards and
one for female.
III. There is no sewerage system ; waste water is conducted
by channels into deep cess-pits. Two closets
are provided for male patients and two for females,
there is also a closet for private wards. The dry earth
system is in use, the latrines are fly-proof, are cleaned
and disinfected daily and frequently whitewashed.

I. The quantity of water is unlimited. Source, a fountain
6-i miles distant ; brought in by an aqueduct. Quality
good.
II. There are lavatories and zinc baths and the wabte water
is carried away when necessary.
III. Drv earth latrines are used and the contents thrown
daily into the sea. There is no sewerage.
General Hospital.
I. The quantitv is practically unlimited and is derived
from the town supply. The quality is very good.
II. There is one bath room and one full-sized bath.
III. There is no sewerage. Earth closet system, cleaned daily.
General Hospital.
I. Quantitv ofwater is sufficient. Source, the town aqueduct
and a well in the hospital garden. Quality good.
