Prisoners of good behaviour and industrious in laboui
sentenced to not less than two years are, if males, aftei
three-fourths, or, if females, after two-thirds of thei
term of imprisonment has expired, recommended to th<
High Commissioner for remission of their sentence, with
or without, Ticket of Leave.
The District Medical Officer certifies as to the causi
of death.
A n inquest was held on every occasion by the Com
missioner (Coroner) of the District on convicts who disc
of any causes other than execution, viz.:—on
(1) Convict Emir Emir Ali who died in the Fama
gusta Hospital on 10th February, 1924, (2) Convic
Christodoulos Demetri who died in the Central Prisor
Hospital on 14th November, 1924, (3) Convict Socratu
Kyriacou and (4) Convict Veyoni Kyriacou who wen
executed at the Paphos Prison on 19th February, 1924
(5) Convict Hussein Behitch who was executed at tht
Central Prison on 24th June, 1924, (6) Convict Christo:
Lanati Papa Chakka and (7) Convict Evripidis Yorghioi
who were executed at the Limassoi Prison on 4tfc
November, 1924, (8) Convict Mustafa Bairam Pattai
and (9) Convict Yussuf Bairam Pourounti who wen
executed at the Central Prison on 9th December, 1924

due to " Dislocation of Vertebrae, neck " in consequent
of execution.

also extra diet of 40 drams olives and 40 drams raisins are
supplied once a w**ek. ue., raisins on Tuesdays and olives on
Saturdays to all lung sentence male and female prisoners dunn**
the months when no fruit is given.
