Every male person being either an Ottoman or a British Subject, or having resided in the Island not less thanfiveyears,
who bas attained the age of 21 years and w h o is a payer of any class of the taxes called Verghi, and bas, on or before the daj
appointed for the making of the Voters' Lists in any year paid in respect of any Electoral District all Verghi payable by tin
up to the 13th dayof January ("New Style") previous, is entitled to he registered RB a voter, and, when so registered, tovotetl
the election of Members for such District.

Duration of session about twelve weeks.
T h e H i g h Commissioner m a y prorogue or dissolve the Council whenever he thinksfit,but, unless sooner dissolved, the
Elective Members hold their seats until the expiration of five years from the return of thefirstwrits at the last Genenl
