EXEMPTIONS.
Articles shipped by the Government of Cyprus, or for the A r m y or Navy *. personal
baggage ; empty sacks, casks, or packages (not including jars or demijohns); straw - mats for
dunnage; bond fide stores and provisions for ships in port, in reasonable quantities ; goods for
other places in Cyprus: specie; and small packages, uot exceeding 55. in vaiue. accompanying
a, nassenger when embarking.
By Law No. 22 of 189'J, sec. 22 (4) stores and equipment for vesseis of war and for yachts
n««d nolely for the purposes of pleasure shall be exempt from the paymeut of wharfage dues.

Men-of-war and ships driven into port under stress of weather are exempted from
dues.
Charges for the use of accommodation and water
payable by all persons other than passengers who may be quarantined, other Uum persons in
Government employ, at a rate according to accommodation required. (CS. 627113 of 10th April, 1913.)
Passengers in quarantine are charged according to the following scale for the use of
available accommodation and water :—

Charges in respect of any vessel on wh ch a medical inspection is performed.

Dues charged on vessels which have come to Cyprus solely for the purpose of
performing quarantine.
And in addition to the above or any quarantine dues, the following dues are chareed on
vessels which, in the op-nun of the Chief Medical Officer or the Chief'Port Authoritf have
come to Cyprus so.eiy for cue purpose of performing quarantine :—
