Note.—The duty is not levied on Tobacco manufactured for exportation and actually exported,
if exported within 3 months of date of manufacture. Manufactured Tobacco includes
Cigars. Cigarettes and Snuff and means all Tobacco subjected to such a process in a
manufactory as will render it capable of consumption.

* LICENSE DUTIES FOR STILLS.

LICENSE DUTIES PAYABLE IN RESPECT OF THE SALE
O F INTOXICATING L IQ U OR S B Y RETAIL.
For every hotel, any premises occupied by any club, restaurant or other place used for the
sale of intoxicating liquors by retail, an annual percentage on the rental or yeariy value of the
premises so used after the rate of 50 per cent, but so that the license duty for an "hotel shall not
exceed 4.10 per annum, or for a club-house £ 5 per annum, and so that the license duty for any
other premises so used shall not exceed the sum of £20 per annum, and so that the lowest annual
rate of duty chargeable shall be for premises in any of the towns of Nicosia. Larnaca, Famagusta
(including Varoshia i, Kyrenia. Ktima and Limassoi £ 4 per annum, and for premises in any other
place £l 10s. per annum.
For selling by retail in any teut or booth or in the open air - - - 2s. per day.

* STORAGE OF GUNPOWDER. &c.
The following charges are payable to the Customs Treasury of the District of Larnaca by
any person storing any explosive substance in the Governmeut Store at Larnaca:—
1 copper piastre per month, or part thereof for every keg or case containing not more
than 10 okes of explosive substance.
2 copper piastres per month, or part thereof for every keg or case containing more than
10 okes.
In the case of storage rate of any explosive substance remaining unpaid for 6 months, the
Chief Collector of Customs may sell a sufficient quantity to cover the arrears of the storage rate.
The Board of Evkaf is entitled to store explosive substances in the Government Store
without the payment of any rate.

The following fees are payable in respect of animals examined by the Veterinary Surgeon \

* FEES UNDER THE WRECKS LAW (No. 12) 1386.
For wreck taken by the Receiver into his custody a commission of five pounds per hundred
pounds on the value thereof, but so that the whole amount of percentage shall not exceed the
sum of twenty pounds in any case.
(a) These license.** are parable annually not later than 12th March. If the first license is
prior to 13th September **harre is
made for the whoic year ; if taken on or after that dare the licence is issued at half the annual rate, for the period op to 12th of
following March.
