METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATIONS.
1. Nicosia is in longitude 33°22' which gives time at 2 hours 13£ minutes fast oi
Greenwich.
2. There is no official standard time. In Nicosia Government Clocks are set by a
Sundial.
3. The Eastern Telegraph Company adopt Alexandria time plus 14 minutes. Ou
this reckoning Cyprns time is 2 hours 14 minutes fast of Greenwich.
REMARKS ON THE WEATHER EXPERIENCED DURING- THE YEAR 1920.
The Mean Temperature as recorded in the screen at Nicosia during 1920 was 64° 4 F.

The heavv snowfall recorded on the 9th, 10th and llth Februarv. 1920. was unusual.
no snow having been recorded for the last 10 years.
The rainy and cool season is from October to March. The ciiraate is varied ; hot and
dry in the plains in summer ; damp ou the sea-shore and cool on the hills.
