''Animals" includes sheep, goats, kine, horses, mules, asses, camels and animals included under the teakere law
(1 Destur, 742).
•"* Violence to person " includes threats and attempts to commit violence and offences committed by persons armed.
" Offence against property " includes offences against rights of property and injuries to the subjects of property but does
not include offences against the Forest Law or under the Field "Watchmen Law.
" Offence against the person " does not include insult or libel.
" Theft" includes wilfully receiving stolen property knowing it to be stolen, and possessing property reasonably suspected
of being stolen.
" Offences againsc property " (other than theft of animals) with violence to the person includes sacrilege, burglary, house–
breaking and shopbreaking.
