with the estimated amouut in the Island at the commencement of the year. Gold, however, is very rarely seen in
circulation and it is very probable that a considerable quantity has left the Island and that the actual quantity in the
Island is much below thefigurequoted, possibly not exceeding £50,000 to £100,000.
