REMARKS
The Town and Village Schools prescribed under the
Education L a w are supported by assessment and
Gorernment Grant.
Prirate Schools are 4 endowed Greek Schools and 6
Moslem supported by Evkaf.
Moslem Schools.—-Under Voluntary Contributions £324
paid by Evkaf and £116 from Municipality Funds.
Greek-Christian Schools.—Under Voluntary Contributions
the sum £209 represents Endowments and Voluntary
Contributions from private subscriptions.
NOTE.
The arerage daily attendance in Moslem Elementary
Schools was 6,706.
A n d in Greek-Christian Schools 30,752. Attendances
of Boys and Girls hare not been separately recorded.
Outof £476, £ 8 0 are paid b y Erkaf and £260collectedfrom
pupils as Admission fee**-. T h e n*t wcrtee from the
School F u n d collected by L a w and applied to Idadi and
Victoria Schools. These Schools are under the control of
the Governing B o d y of Moslem Secondary Schools.
The Roushdie School is supported and controlled
by Evkaf.
The Gymnasium comprises also Training Branch.
These Schools are managed by the T o w n School
Committee. They have received £1,300 from
" School Fund " in addition to the Grant.

This Seminary is under the control of the Holy Synod
of Cyprus of which the Archbishop is President.
This is a Private School on the lines of an
English Grammar School. The language of
instruction is English, but Turkish, Greek and
French and Arabic are also taught, and boys
of all races are received.
