Prisoners of good behaviour and industrious in labour
sentenced to not less than two year? are, if males, after
three-fourths, or, if females, after two-thirda of their
term of imprisonment has expired, recommended to the
High Commissioner for remission of their sentence, with,
or without, Ticket of Leave.
The District Medical Officer certifies as to the cause
of death. Yes. Inquest held by the Commissioner
(Coroner) of Nicosia, on (1) convict O s m a n Mustafa Kara
Mehmet who died at the Nicosia General Hospital on
7th June, 1917; (2) convict Mustafa Mertjan Hadjo
who died at the Central Prison Hospital on 26th July,
1917; (3) convict Ali Hassan who died at the Central
Prison Hospital on 16th November, 1917; (4) convict
Kiashif Hj. Yiafer; (5) convict Yussuf Beyzade Kouro
and (6) convict Kyriako Hj. Yiacoumi who were
executed at the Central Prison on 27th November,
1917 ; (7) convict Mustafa Emin Dai who was executed
in the Larnaca Prison on 27th November, 1917;
(8) convict Lucas Constantinou who was executed in,
the Famagusta Prison on 27th November, 1917 and
(9) convict Haralambos Christodoulou Lambouri who
was executed in the Limassoi Prison on 19th March,
1913.
Verdict in the first 3 cases. " Natural deaths " and
in the latter 6 cases. " Dislocation of vertebral neck "
due to execution.

Rheumatism, malarial fever, diarrhoea, diseases of the
digestive and respiratory system, influenza, dysentery,

anemia, glands in the neck, bronchial catarrh.

Punishment diet for all prisoners.

In addition to above, fresh fruit in limited quantities may be
supplied when so ordered by the Medical Officer of the Prison ;
also extra diet of 40 dioms olives and 40 drams raisins are
supplied once a week, ix., raisins on Tuesdays and olives on
Saturdays to all long sent nee male and female prisoners daring
the months when no frail is given.
