Other Information useful
for a new High Commissioner
Government House, Nicosia,
is a single-storied structure
of wood surrounded by a
verandah and a large stone
Gallery on the South side,
with detached Kitchen,

Stores of masonry. It
occupies three sides of a
square in the centre of
which is a concrete lawn-
tennis court. There is
also a croquet ground.
There is a separate small
stone building containing
two rooms for che use of the
Private Secretary and
Aide-de-Camp.
There is a rauge of buildings
.near the stables contain-
: ing 5 quarters suitable for
grooms and servants.
There is stabling for 12
horses, cow-bouse, coach–
house, harness-room aud
motor shed. There is a
small glass house with
lean-to for flowers. Water
for the house aud gardeu is
procured from wells by 4
Air Motors, and led conve–
niently bv pipes. A
labourer is also paid by che
Government to attend to
the earth cloaecs and
remove rubbish.

occasion of dinners, etc.
