The Town and Village Schools prescribed under the
Education Law are supported by assessment and
Gorernment Grant.
Prirate Schools are 4 endowed Greek Schools and 6
Moslem supported by Erkaf.
Moslem Schools.—Under Voluntary Contributions 4306
paid by Erkaf and £77 from Municipality Funds.
Greek-Christian Schools.—Under Voluntary Contributions
the sum £245 represents Endowments and Voluntary
Contributions from prirate subscriptions.
NOTE.
The arerage daily attendance in Moslem Elementary
Schools was 6,289.
A a d in Greek*Christian Schools 26,960. Attendances
of Boys and Girls hare not been separately recorded.
Out of £273, £24 are paid by Erkaf and £74 collected from
pupils as admission fees. The rest accrues from the
School Fund collected by L a w and applied to Idadi and
Victoria Schools. These Schools are under the control of
the Gorerning Body of Moslem Secondary Schools.
The Rushdie School is supported and controlled
by Evkaf.
The Gymnasium comprises also Training and Com–
mercial Branches.
<{ These Schools are managed by the To**™ School
Committee. Ther have received £650 from
"School F u n d " in addition to the Grant.
"The High Schools at Larnaca, Limassoi, Fama–
gusta and Paphos are not aided by the
Government by ordinary Grant beyond the
sums for school fund £133 collected from each
town, and are dependent on fees or subscriptions
and £115 in respect of the English Teaching.

This Seminary is entirely directed by the Bishop of
Kition.
This is a Private School on the lines of an
English Grammar School. T h e language of
instruction is English, but Turkish, Greek and
French and Arabic are also taught, and boys
of all races are received.
