The Town and Village Schools prescribed under the
Education Law are supported by assessment and
Government Grant.
Private Schools are 4 endowed Greek Schools and-4
Moslem supported by Evkaf.
Moslem Schools.—Under Voluntary Contributions 4806
paid by Evkaf and All from Municipality Funds.
Greek-Christian Schools.—Under Voluntary Contributions
the sum £221 represents Endowments and Voluntary
Contributions from private subscriptions.
NOTE.
The average daily attendance in Moslem Elementary
Schools was 4,926.
And in Greek-Christian Schools 26,696. Attendances
of Boys and Girls have not been separately recorded.

Out of £244, £24 are paid by Evkaf and £68 collected from
pupils as admission fees. The rest accrues from the
School Fund collected by L a w and applied to Idadi and
Victoria Schools. These Schools are under the control of
the Governing Body of Moslem Secondary Schools.
The Rushdie School is supported and controlled
by Evkaf.
The Gymnasium comprises also Training and Com–
mercial Branches.
•^ These Schools are managed by the T o w n School
Committee. They have received £550 from
" School Fund " in addition to the Grant.
'Tbe Higb Schools at Larnaca, Limassol, Fama–
gusta and Paphris are not aided by the
Government by ordinary Grant beyond the
sums for school fund £121 collected from eajoh
town, and are dependent on fees or subscriptions
and £100 in respect of the English Teaching.
Tbey are governed by Committees under the
Secondary Education Law.

| is entirely directed by the Bishop of Eition.
This is a Private School on the lines of an
English Grammar School. T h e language of
instruction is English, but Turkish, Greek and
French and Arabic are also taught, and boys
of all races are received.
