IMPORT DUTY.

Pig iron, admitted free of Customs Import Duty.
Demijohns sealed ou exportation may be re-admitted duty free after identification.
When any Import Duty shall have been paid in respect of any wine, spirits, malt liquors,
tobacco, cigars, or articles of food supplied for the use of any muss on board auy of His
Majesty's ships of war, a drawback of the amount of the duty so paid may be allowed, or if
such goods are shipped from the Customs store before payment of duty, the amount of such
duty may be remitted on the production of a certificate from the proper officer of Customa
that such goods have been actually shipped on board one of His Majesty's ships, a receipt
from the Paymaster of snch ship for the ^oods and a written undertaking from the Paymaster
or other proper officer of such ship that if such goods or any part thereof shall be at any time
re-landed, the duty shall be paid thereon.
Iu lieu of drawback of import duty paid in respect of any wine, spirits, malt liquors
tobacco, cigars or articles of food imported and subsequently actually consumed or used by
His Majesty's Land Forces, fixed money allowances are paid out of the Island Treasury to
the Officers and Soldiers of His Majesty's Laud Forces quartered within the Islaud.

PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS ON IMPORTS AND
EXPORTS.
The following are the Prohibitions and Restrictions on Imports aud Exports :—

IMPORTS.
GOATS.—Importation prohibited, save under permit of High Commissioner, Law 10 of 1888.
LOCUST
EGGS.—Importation
prohibited, sec. 8 and 9, Law 11 of 1881.
SILK-WORM
EGG3.—Importation prohibited except under certain conditions, Law 17 of
1897.
IMMIGRANTS
(Destitute, criminal and vicious).—Landing prohibited, unless security given for
support or for deportation, Gazette 602, p. 3697, year 1898.—See CS. Circular No.
4123/06 of 14th February, 1907.

LEPERS.—Landing prohibited; but Chief Medical Officer may grant special permission for )

(4) Tobacco may, however, be imported by parcel post in small quantities on payment of an additional duty of -\ep. per oke, or
fraction of an oke, Gazette 699 of 25th May, 1901, page 4493. If otherwise imported than through the Parcel Post under special permis-
sion from the High Commissioner in packages of less than 20 okes, there is parable in addition to the Customs duty a further import
-duty of 1*. per oke, or fraction of an oke, Gazette 718 of 17th January, 1902, page 4694.
