SPECIFICATION OF TAXES, DUTIES, &C.
L O C U S T TAX.
(Chargeable vearly to provide money for the destruction of locusts.)
SCHEDULE A.
For and in respect of all citheable produce there shall be charged yearly one per cent, on
the value of such produce, over and above the ordinary tithe.
(On carobs exported che charge is 30 paras per cantar. whether ground or entire or mixed
with any other substance.)
SCHEDULE B.
For and in respect of all houses, shops and other buildings the Terghi of which is charged
on cheir estimated value ("Terghi Kimat). chere shall be charged yearly one-thousandch part of
such estimated value.
SCHEDULE C.
For and in respect of the annual profits or gains arisin*r or accruing co any person
whatever, whether an Ottoman subject -or not. although not resident in this Island, from any
profession, trade or other business exercised within tins Island chere shall be charged yearly one
per cent, on such profits or gains.
SCHEDULE D.
For and in respect of every public office or employment of profit, whether public or private.
and for and in respect of every annuity, pension or stipend payable out of the public revenue of
this Island, there shall be charged yearly one per cent, on all incomes derived from anv of these
sources.
SCHEDULE E.
For and in respect of every sheep and -?oat there shall 1*- charged yearly the snm of fifteen
paras
