uncertain hours by the Goveruor of tne Prison.
Each prisoner sleeps in a separate cell m
the Central Prison.

There are no Chaplains attached to the
prisons. Priests of all denominations are
admitted at the request of the prisoners.
In the District Prisons no reiiyious services
are held, except at Paphos and Larnaca for
Greek-Christians. T h e Greek-Christians con–
fess and receive the sacrament on their chief
religious festivals. In the Central Prison a
service for Moslems is held on Fridays a n d
on alternate Sundays a Priest or L a y m a n
attends and ministers to the m e m b e r s of the
Greek Church. T h e attendance of the FLxlja
has been regular but that of the Priest a n d
L a v m a n irregular. A Religious and General
Instructor (in addition to the Priest or L a y m a n )
appointed from 6th M a y . 1906. for Greek.
