L O C U S T T A X (a).
(Chargeable yearly to provide money for the destruction of locusts.)
A.—For and in respect of all ticheable produce one per cent, on the value of such produce
over and above the ordinary tithe.
B . — F o r and in respect of all houses, shops aud other buildings the verghi of which is
charged on their estimated value (verghi kimat), one thousandth part of such estimated
value.
D . — F o r and in respect of every public office or employment of profit, whether public or
private, and for and in respect of every annuity, pension or stipend payable out of the
public revenue of this Island one per cent, on" all incomes derived from any of these
sources, amounting to £200 a year or more.
E . — F o r and in respect of every sheep and goat yearly the sum of 15 paras.
(a). O n caroubs exported the charge is 30 paras per cantar, whether ground or entire or
mixed with anv other substance.

SALES OF:—
Forest produce including bark, salt, drugs, rushes, mulberry leaves and other produce of
Crown lands, bronze coin, gazettes, maps, laws, etc., antiquities and treasure trove, bran and
Government property generally, condemned police clothing, etc.
REIMBURSEMENTS, viz. :—
Payments for services of Customs guards, purchase of discharge by Police, costs recovered
in Court, damages done to forest, Hospital stoppages, repayments for goal diet of Military and
other prisonen. repayments for Governmenc House furniture, repayments for guarding W a r
Department stores, tent hire, Customs, bonded store rent, Customs warehouse reut, powder-store
renc, Gazette advertisements, over-payments recovered, allowance for collecting Evkaf tiches, etc.
